Hi all. Happy Monday to you! I, along with my friend and photographer Maritere Rice, have been enjoying a few days in the Florida Keys at the Gates Hotel in Key West. We will have many more photos and recommendations for you from Key West, but for now I wanted to share a sneak peek of the island featuring one of my favorite fashion finds lately : the J.Crew candy stripe collection…
J.Crew Candy Stripe Collection
You all know that, as far as I am concerned, color is always in style! But thankfully, these days the rest of the world is on the same color-loving page as us here at Wear + Where + Well. Did you see the Gucci Resort 2017 collection shown in London at Westminster Abbey last week? Wow! It was a cacophony of color and print. These rainbow striped platform metallic sneakers stole the show.
While this Gucci collection isn’t yet available and it may be a bit too loud and impractical for some of us, never fear… J.Crew has delivered us some wonderfully colorful options for summer! I’ve fallen in love with their current candy stripe offerings. The colors are certainly bright and cheery, but not too intense nor jarring. In fact, I find the pieces have almost a serene sense to them. Plus, the lovely linens and comfortable cottons are perfect for summer.
Check out all the summer-ready options in this pattern. The popover, the tunic, the cardigan, and the scarf are favorite options of mine. If you have a little girl, how can you resist the option for some mommy and me twinning with the girls-sized tiered dress, ruched top, or pull-on shorts?

A few notes on sizing for the tunic: I’m wearing the size 4 tall. I first tried the popover top on in-store, but found the regular to be a bit short on my 5’10” frame. So, I was thankful to find the tall option online. I probably could have worn the 2 tall, but opted to stick with my regular size 4, given that I wanted that loose, easy-going fit for casual summer looks. If you prefer a more fitted look, size down one size from your normal J.Crew size.
Don’t you just love these summer stripes? I know this tunic will be in heavy rotation in my everyday summer wardrobe, plus I might need to snag a few more pieces before they sell out. Act fast – this is a popular collection!
