Floral T-Shirts by Michael De Feo for J.Crew

Hi friends – Happy Wednesday! A note to tell you about a small capsule collection with which I’m obsessed. Well, I guess it’s fair to call it “obsessed” when you’ve purchased the whole collection. Ha! This small collection of three floral t-shirts is not only a stylish, fun, pretty collection. But the Michael De Feo for J.Crew collection has such a cool story behind it that I had to share with you…

The Story Behind Michael De Feo for J.Crew

Now, around here, we like to think of ourselves as law-abiding citizens. But, sometimes a little harmless law-breaking (if there is such a thing? Ha) can lead to something beautiful! Case in point: the way J.Crew discovered Michael De Feo (@theflowerguy on Instagram).

If you’ve been to New York City (or any big city for that matter), you’ve likely seen those covered benches where people can wait for buses / metro transportation. Well, like anything in America, marketers have found a way to monetize those by adding advertisements on the end. As it turns out, in spring 2015, J.Crew had advertisements on a bus shelter.

Then, artist Michael De Feo saw that as a chance to express himself by adding some floral art to the advertisement. He posted a photo of it on Instagram. J.Crew’s reaction? Rather than be upset, J.Crew loved it and regrammed the image! Thus, began the partnership between the two.

And now we have this floral wearable art!

Isn’t it a great story? You can read more here.
