Fall is On Our Mind with This Beautiful Velvet Dress

Happy October! I know I know, it might be hard to think about velvet when it’s still boiling hot here in Houston. I guess that cold front didn’t come through this weekend! However, colder days are most certainly ahead of us, and we’re in a fall state of mind, indeed. Plus, if you don’t live in Houston, you might already be experiencing cooler weather, so you might very well be thinking fall fashion!

Tibi Stretch Velvet Shirred Front Dress

If you are, in fact, in that fall state of mind (it is October, after all!), you’re going to want to get your hands on this dress. Is it not the most gorgeous piece? The color is the perfect shade of blue, the shirred detail is extra flattering, and the uneven midi hem is very much of the moment. And don’t forget the loose turtleneck collar. It’s beyond chic and totally glamorous, yet completely wearable all season long.

How Carrie Styled Her Dress

It’s no surprise that Carrie knew exactly how to style this dress. And those white booties? Insane. And that mini Mansur Gavriel bag is adorable and classic. While the dress is velvet, as well as long sleeved, it’s actually quite a transitional piece. The fabric is extremely lightweight, soft, and stretchy. Even on a warm day in Austin, Carrie was able to wear it without getting too hot. And, then, of course, when it does get cold, simply add some tights and a jacket, and you’ll be good to go!
