I mean I love ALL the options above – but also am a HUUUGE fan of a 2nd Cup on 11th St in the Heights – using Boomtown Roasted beans (if I remember correctly.) & proceeds going to end human trafficking in Houston = WIN! Also- there is ample seating, many couches and tables spread out so you don’t feel crowded or like you can hear everyone’s conversation.

Oh that’s wonderful! I just recently heard about this. We will have to check it out!!

I totally agree with this! A 2nd Cup is incredible and they have great lunch options! Definitely worth checking out and adding to the list.

Such a good list! I just moved to the Heights so this is a great resource!

Oh good! Some of the gals here are experts on the heights! Let us know if we can help any further.

    Hi Carrie (and team),

What a great list. While I don’t live in Houston, my favourites where I live are:

    Starbucks
Tim Hortons (a very Canadian tradition)
    Dolce (a local independent) http://www.dolcebistro.ca/

Keep up the good work with the guides.

You simply have to try the Dandelion Cafe in Bellaire. They have pastries and bagels from weights and measures, and amazing greenway coffee – all in one place. They only opened a couple of months ago and are having a grand opening event on Nov 5.
You seriously need to give them a go:

Tree House Craft Coffee and Frozen Yogurt off of Memorial Dr. and Kirkwood in the Energy Corridor is a hidden gem. Smoothest Japanese Cold Brew and best single origin Coffee.

You’re forgetting about southside espresso, inversion and mercantile montrose!! All solid options for coffee inside the loop;)

None of my favorites made the list…

The Nook: Definitely my favorite. It’s on the UH main campus. Can be a bit crowded if you go at peak studying hours.

Fix Coffeehouse: Popped up on Westheimer less than a year ago. Their coffee is so delicious. Very chic spot and lots of tables for studying/working.

Fioza: It’s in Meyerland off of Chimney Rock and Braeswood. I love their Cafe Vida latte and their chocolate chip pumpkin muffin!

    1. Carrie says:

Hey there Rebecca – thanks so much for chiming in! We will have to check those out.

Red dessert dive has amazing baristas they actually were just involved in the caffeine crawl. Coffee is always prepared with love.

    1. Carrie says:

Oh good to know! We will have to try it out.

As far as coffee quality and taste go, Southside Espresso in Montrose is my absolute favorite. My drink of choice is a cappuccino and Southside is one of few places I’ve been in Houston that knows how to make one properly.

I’m also a fan of late night studying at coffee shops, so I will definitely be giving some of these a try!
