Preface
First, thank you so much for your overwhelming support and enthusiasm for our Wall Wanderings : Houston Mural Guide that we released yesterday! We hope you enjoy this first edition of Wall Wanderings.
Be sure to read the article, follow @wall_wanderings on Instagram, and share your colorful wall photos using the hashtags #WearWhereWellWallWanderings and #WWWWallWanderingsHOU, as appropriate. Who knows… Maybe we will wander to your city next!
Secondly, as I type this article, I’m aboard a flight to NYC for fashion week (NYFW). I must confess, though, as an introvert, the crowds and the parties and the hustle and bustle of fashion week overwhelm me at times. Nevertheless, I love attending because what I really love is seeing what’s next in the fashion world. Specifically, I love spotting (a) new trends, and (b) emerging designers. In that vein, I loved reading Nordstrom’s VP of fashion Jeffrey Kalinsky had to say regarding who will emerge from NYFW as the next big thing.
Since starting this website, though, I’ve struggled to understand what you all want to see or know or learn about fashion week. While fashion week is exciting for me, I haven’t quite determined if it matters to you. So, share your thoughts! I would value your input.
Speaking of NYFW, be sure to follow along on Snapchat (username : wearwherewell) and on Instagram (@carriec).
Try the Terrific Tassel Trend
One trend that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon is the boho look. While that look in total doesn’t fit my personal style aesthetic very well, I can nevertheless incorporate aspects of the trend into my wardrobe in small doses.
Case in point: tassels.
Tassels and fringe are both prevalent in the boho style, as they each seem to add to that free spirit vibe. Tassels, in particular, are a terrific way to work the boho feel into a look. That’s because you can use tassels in many ways, from subtle to more overt.
In fact, you can really make tassels work for you by incorporating them into your natural style. For instance, I was thrilled to find this lace sheath dress that has all-over tassel embellishments. While the dress shape and material have a very ladylike feel to it, which is a style I naturally embrace, the tassels add a twist to the look. Then, I found this clean-lined clutch with tassel embellishments. The tassels provide a fun, unexpected touch for both the dress and the clutch.
Accordingly, t]o help you incorporate the trend into your fall fashion, we’ve scoured Nordstrom to find the best tassel offerings across all product types and price ranges…

Ah that’s so nice of you to say, Luci. Thanks!
Hi Carrie,
That dress looks so great on you. I’m with you on the boho trend….I have definitely more of a “lady-like” style, but cool that you are able to incorporate it into your wardrobe.
I really love the vest you featured in your lower link by Leith. I am a bit unsure about how to wear it for work in a corporate environment. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much and have fun in NYC. I’m a big introvert so I can relate.
Sheri
Hey Sheri –
Thanks a bunch. Yeah, you just have to make trends work within your natural style.
Hmmm… you could just wear it over a blouse or a turtleneck and pants.
I’m glad you understood what I meant. 😉
Thanks Carrie. Appreciate the response 🙂
Always, Sheri! Anything you need. Xo
Okay well I must say I love your Fashion week posts!! Please keep them coming! I am all over the live feeds and any type of coverage I can see until one day I will get to be there myself!
Second this is such a chic tassel look! Love it Carrie! I love that you paired the long vest with it. I am really into long vests and love seeing them incorporated!
Loving your snaps from NYFW. the mix of Ballet and Fashion was so beautiful today with Sachin and Babi, it really was lovely for me to see as a former ballerina myself! Looking forward to seeing the rest of NYFW through your eyes!
lots of love… Sydney
