About Carrie Colbert
Carrie thrives at the intersection of business and creativity.
Before entering the online fashion world, Carrie had an accomplished 17-year career in oil and gas. Carrie’s energy industry included leadership positions in engineering, finance, investor relations, and strategic planning.
She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1999 at the top of her class with a Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering with highest honors. Plus, in 2009, she earned her Master of Business Administration from UT Austin while continuing to work full-time. In 2013, she was named the Outstanding Young Engineering Graduate by the UT Cockrell School of Engineering.
But given her passion for both business and creativity, Carrie decided to leave her corporate career and launch her own creative business. Her first foray into the digital space was a fashion, travel, and lifestyle blog known as Wear + Where + Well. Now, however, Carrie has taken a leap forward in her business with the launch of CarrieColbert.com and the “More Color, Please” movement.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Carrie is involved in multiple philanthropic causes. She actively serves on the Board of Directors for Recipe for Success and the UT Cockrell School of Engineering executive advisory board.
If you were to ask Carrie what she is most proud of though, she would undoubtedly tell you she is most proud of her newborn daughter Elle. As Carrie says, Elle brings more color and joy to her life than she’s ever known!
Thank you for stopping by and joining in as we think, dress, and live with more color.
