The Tie Trend : Tie Accents
Tie on one. Tie the knot. The ties that bind. Fit to be tied. All tied up.
We’ve all heard and uttered these “tie” phrases. Well, this season, it appears that designers took the sayings to heart. Ties are turning up in many ways. They can be used to cinch in the waist, to accent the neck, or just embellish a look.
Here, I’m wearing a Tibi top. This top is just one example of how Tibi has done this look so well. Remember this marsala dress I wore for this article? Did you notice the pretty tie details on the sleeves? Tibi has even managed to make tie-front pants look good. More of my favorite Tibi pieces are included below…
To demonstrate that the tie trend look has some lasting power, take note of how it was used on Spring / Summer 2016 runways a few weeks ago in New York. Lela Rose incorporated the look with this blush bow front jumper. Meanwhile, Tanya Taylor tacked a tie onto this colorful floral dress.
Try the Trend
In addition to the top I’m wearing, we’ve rounded up our top 20 fashionable finds with tie accents. As you browse these 20 pieces, you’ll find that they cover a wide range of styles and price points. Happy shopping!
Bonus style tip: Don’t be afraid to create this look with pieces you already own – tying up a button up shirt, tying a scarf in a bow around your neck, tying a jacket or shirt around your waist… the possibilities are endless.
