Delpozo

Today, I’m flashing back to New York Fashion Week. I know, I know… September was ages ago in the fashion world. Time moves so quickly! But I had to take the chance to share with you one of my favorite looks of all time by one of my new favorite designers : Delpozo.

I first fell in love with Delpozo when I saw these metallic bow leather sandals on Moda Operandi. As I started paying more attention to Delpozo, I became absolutely enamored with creative director Josep Font’s designs. He joined the design house in 2012. The first thing you will notice about his designs is the architectural influence. That is no accident. He was originally educated and trained as an architect. The second thing you will notice about his designs is the craftsmanship. The attention to detail is second to none. The fabrics and embellishments are all meticulously chosen and constructed. And the third thing you’ll notice and appreciate about his designs are that they are innovative. He is pushing the envelope and, dare I say, doing things differently from anyone else right now. Stay tuned, as he has really put the Spanish design house back on the map!

As for the photos pictured here, this bold red Delpozo dress is what I chose to wear on day 1 of NYFW in September. You may recall that Cate Blanchett wore a top in this design earlier this year. On the runway, this dress was shown in a cream color. It was quite lovely of course, but not necessarily the best color for me. But when Lucas from the boutique sent me an email with this dress in red, I knew we had a winner! Not only was it flashy, flattering, and fashion-forward, it was also quite comfortable – always an important criterion in my book!

The dress certainly made a bold statement. This street style look was featured on E! Online, W Magazine, and Elle Australia, just to name a few. You can see more on my features page. It also was named one of the top 100 street style looks for all of the spring summer 2015 collection shows around the world.

If you are interested in browsing the Delpozo collections, you can see the current fall collection runway photos here and the upcoming spring collection here on Fashion Wire Press. As for shopping the collection, I have found the best sources for Delpozo to be Moda Operandi and Forty Five Ten, a boutique in Dallas that you can peruse online on Farfetch here. Or, there is a flagship boutique in Miami. Stop by, call, or email, and ask for Lucas. Tell him Carrie sent you!
