With spring just around the corner, I simply must introduce you to my current favorite swimwear designer. I don’t use this word often, but I am truly obsessed with Lisa Marie Fernandez (LMF) swimsuits. You may remember me donning a similar LMF bikini in this Tuscany post.
The American stylist turned into a designer with the launch of her eponymous swimwear line. And she did not do so subtlety! LMF took swimsuits in a whole new direction. Inspired by scuba wear, the designer has brought a modern, athletic aesthetic to swimsuits, while still keeping them feminine, sleek, and sexy. The line has gained a global cult following, with celebrities and everyday women alike singing the praises of the pieces. The LMF swimsuits are both flattering and comfortable. They have no underwires or padding, but somehow hold everything perfectly and comfortably in place. You really do have to try them to feel the difference!
My personal favorite style is the Louise-Marie bikini. I own it in this black and white version, as well as this turquoise and white version. I like to call it the bikini version of a DVF wrap dress. The wrap nature of the style means that you can always adjust it to get that perfect fit.
I’ve found the best places to shop for LMF pieces online are Moda Operandi, Net-a-Porter, and Shopbop. Also, while researching LMF pieces for this post, I stumbled upon this new-to-me printed one piece at the Outnet (at a great discount!), which she did in collaboration with another designer I dig, Peter Pilotto.
Have you ever tried her swimsuits? I’d love to hear your thoughts if so! If not, here is a gathering of some of my favorite LMF pieces for your perusal:
