Our New Friday Concept!

Hello everyone and happy Friday! First and foremost, considering we’re transitioning into a new year, we’ve decided to freshen up our usual Friday Favorite Finds post. Instead of deriving a list of our favorite items from a theme, we are focusing on what inspires us. This involves some of our favorite art pieces, films, interior décor, etc.… really whatever sparks our spirits. For instance, this week is based on the recently released film, La La Land. Inspired By: La La Land

On Christmas day, La La Land was released in theaters and stole the attention of music lovers and hopeless romantics, including myself. Not to mention, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling star as an aspiring actress and jazz musician, hindered by the difficult choice of choosing love or spotlight. How deep does La La Land dig into our emotions? Lots. Nevertheless, the film is a modern day musical and a piece of art itself. Based in the city of Los Angeles, the film bleeds 60’s vibes and bright, primary colors.

Also I’m definitely not the only one who admired the film’s artistry. During the most recent Golden Globes, La La Land won 7 awards, including best motion picture, best screenplay, best original song and best original score. Altogether, including the Golden Globes successes, La La Land has won over 130 awards and has been nominated 182 times!

Regardless, I could continue on forever about this film, including my adoration for the music and outstanding acting. However, I’ll finish with this article from Billboard What ‘La La Land’ Gets Right About Jazz. I feel like it thoroughly explains my feelings on the jazz music.
