17 Fun Ideas for Lucky Charms Marshmallows

So much more than a cereal!

Lucky Charms Marshmallows

Who among us doesn’t enjoy a bowl of Lucky Charms? Just mentioning the cereal conjures up all sorts of memories of sugary childhood breakfasts. While sugary breakfasts might not be a part of your life nowadays, you can still appreciate the colorful cuteness of Lucky Charms marshmallows, right?

Around here, we can’t resist Lucky Charms marshmallows. Lucky Charms used to be one of my all time favorite cereals. Growing up, I’d eat it multiple times each week for breakfast, but I wouldn’t actually eat much of the “boring” part; I’d just eat the marshmallows. I know I’m not the only one who did / does that.

Those Lucky Charms marshmallows are so good, especially in milk. And while I don’t still eat Lucky Charms, I can’t help but feel nostalgic when I do see the box in the cereal aisle at Kroger.

So with St. Patrick’s Day approaching, we couldn’t resist getting creative with these famous marshmallows. It’s both a nod to our childhood and something fun to do for the upcoming holiday.

Keep on reading for three super easy ideas from us, plus 14 other ways our fellow creatives have used them in years past.

1. Lucky Charm Marshmallow Floral Centerpieces

Take your centerpiece game to a whole new level with these colorful little marshmallows.

And it’s truly oh so simple!

Choose your flowers (we went with a rainbow theme to go along with the colors of the marshmallows).

Select a vase (or varying sizes of vases). Then put a plastic cup in the middle of each vase. You might have to use scissors to trim it to the right size perhaps.

Spoon the marshmallows into the ring between the vase and the plastic cup. And then fill the cups with water and place the flowers in them.

Arrange and enjoy!

2. Lucky Lettering with Marshmallows

Another easy one! We are fans of great typography around here, so we wanted to play around with letters / words / fonts…

First, simply choose a word you’d like for the project. We chose “lucky” for obvious reasons!

Now, we leaned on our friend Monica at Paper Flour Ink to create an acrylic laser cut piece for us, but you can just as easily use thick paper or cardboard. Just pick a word, pick a font (script works best, so that the letters are connected), type your word, print it at the scale you want, cut it out, and use it as a reverse stencil (and you can print out exactly what Monica used here and here). Then just place marshmallows around the letters. It’s that simple.

Maybe not the most practical project, but we are not against doing something (1) for the creative satisfaction and (2) for the ‘gram. Yep – this makes for a wonderful Instagram moment 😉

3. Lucky Charms Marshmallow Treats

Now, this one was delicious!

Confession: I am a Rice Krispie treat fiend! I won’t make them at home, because I could eat a whole pan. So, I just buy them and eat them at the occasional restaurant that serves them. (Thank you, Relish, for having the best!)

But I digress… Given my affinity for cereal treats, the team knew they had to make these for me! Good news: I sent most of them home for everyone’s kiddos.

To make your own Lucky Charms treats, all you need is a box of Lucky Charms, salted butter (approximately 1/2 cup), and miniature marshmallows (approximately 8-9 cups). We, of course, chose rainbow colored mini marshmallows.

Simply put parchment paper down on a pan and set aside. Melt the butter on the stove top, add marshmallows, and stir until melted (but not burnt!). Add in the cereal and combine. Transfer all into your pan and let sit for an hour or so.

And then enjoy!

Now, in addition to our projects, we thought we’d share some more Lucky Charms marshmallow ideas. We find so much creative inspiration out there!

Where to Find Lucky Charms Marshmallows

Who knew there was so much you could do with Lucky Charms marshmallows, right? Now, the million dollar question: How long did it take our rockstar intern to separate out all the marshmallows from the cereal?

Well, fortunately for her, we love her, appreciate her, and want her to stick around for a while. So we looked for an alternative idea to her spending hours of her time separating marshmallows from cereal pieces.

It’s truly a great world we live in… Did you know you can buy the marshmallows alone? Yes indeed! We found a lovely little Etsy shop, Jelly and Jemima, who sells solely the marshmallows! You know we love to support small, woman-owned businesses. And she was just a delight to work with on these. This is not sponsored or comped or anything! We just enjoyed doing business with her.

Let us know if you make any of these fun recipes or DIYs, and we’ll see you back here tomorrow!
