Mary Katrantzou Resort 2016
Athens-born and London-based designer Mary Katrantzou has been a favorite of mine for several years now. I wore my first dress of hers back in 2013 and have continued to collect pieces from each collection, as her use of color and print resonates deeply within me.
Known for her revolutionary use of digitally printed textiles, Mary continues that theme in a bold way with her Resort 2016 collection – perhaps my favorite collection of hers to date. The Mary Katrantzou Resort 2016 collection explores a kaleidoscope of colors and straightforward graphic designs. Of course, Mary throws in some prints as well, mainly via botanical illustrations.
I first picked up this jumper from the collection, which has proven to be a very versatile, casual, easy-to- wear piece (also available in t-shirt form). Then, I couldn’t resist this rainbow skirt. You may have noticed that I wore it a few days ago for New York Fashion Week (NYFW). The rainbow of colors combined with the fluid movement of the skirt make it an eye-catching, happiness-inducing piece.
Top 25: Mary Katrantzou Resort 2016 Edit
Given the outstanding nature of the collection, it was hard to narrow it down. But here, you’ll find our top 25 selections from the collection – a wide array of daytime, evening, casual, and dressy pieces – all colorful, all bold, and all sure to delight your senses.
Stay tuned this week for some New York Fashion Week coverage and more. Plus, I’ll be traveling abroad for more fashion month action.
