Splurge vs. Save : Striped Sweater Dress

Alright, guys, I know we’re still in the heart of summer here, but with our favorite brands and retailers already starting to show a sampling of their fall collections, we can’t help but take a little look (especially when some of the items are on sale!). 

What’s great is when you can wear the item now and later. And that’s exactly the case with the primary piece in today’s splurge vs. save installment. 

Striped Sweater Dress

A sweater dress is a staple in one’s wardrobe, or so we think! It can be worn over jeans, leggings, skirts, dresses, or on it’s own. It’s versatile and can be dressed up or down with or without accessories. There’s nothing we don’t love about a sweater dress, especially a striped one.

When Carrie stumbled upon the Rag & Bone striped sweater dress, she fell in love, and then I took a look, and fell in love soon after. It’s black and white, the right length, the perfect heaviness, and, quite simply, fits all the criteria of the perfect sweater dress.

So, we decided for today’s splurge vs. save to take that sweater dress and add the necessary components to it to wear both now and later (at both high and low price points).

A Pop of Red

Something about a pop of red with a black and white look screams modern, chic, and effortlessly cool. I love the idea of adding red accessories to this outfit. And then think of adding a red lip, and it’s a perfect, head to toe, ensemble.
