Trending: Bomber Jackets for Fall
Is it really happening? Are the temperatures finally starting to drop? At least for us here in Houston, this past weekend was picture perfect. Chilly in the mornings, warm during the day when the sun was out, and chilly again in the evenings. It’s exactly the type of weather I love.
And the other thing I love about this weather is that we can finally bring out our lightweight outerwear pieces. You know, the jackets you wear during those exceptional couple months leading up to winter weather?
Right now, it’s all about the bomber jacket. You may remember back in spring, the bomber jacket was an on trend piece. Well, ladies, it’s back and better than ever for fall.
What I love so much about a bomber jacket is not only the fact that it can be worn on these picturesque fall days, but it’s so extremely versatile and is offered in a variety of styles. You’ll see traditional military influences on these jackets, ‘letter jacket’ inspired, as well as embellishments, embroidery, and a slew of fabrics. Think: velvet, satin, leather, suede.
In addition, a bomber jacket can be dressed up or down. In fact, you can just as easily wear it with jeans, a tee, and sneaks as you can with leather pants, a blouse, and stilettos.
This season, the options in bomber jackets are truly vast, and they come in every price point imaginable. In particular, we’re loving the bomber jacket selection at Nordstrom. From a simple black bomber jacket, to a Bordeaux, suede style, to a playful floral print, to laminated tweed, the options are endless.
The Very Best Bomber Jackets for Fall

My Bomber Jacket Look
In order to embrace this trend myself, I opted to splurge on this Self-Portrait lace bomber jacket. I did so because this weight of jacket will be perfect for most of the Houston winter. Since it doesn’t get very cold here, I’ll be able to wear this jacket a lot.
Plus, I fell in love with two specific things about this jacket. First, I like the longer length of it. As a tall gal, this is a nice twist that suits my body type well. And, if you’ll recall, I already picked up a more cropped style of bomber jacket in the spring. Secondly, I of course fell hard for the beautiful lace. This lace is just undeniably beautiful!
Good news for ya… If you’re looking for a budget friendly floral lace bomber jacket, check out this great find. And here are all the other details of my look:
