Perhaps it is their elegant semblance. Perhaps it is the way they flit about earth seemingly without a care. Or perhaps it is the metamorphosis and transformation and rebirth that they represent.
I am not certain of the precise reason, but I have always felt drawn to these beautiful creatures in a powerful way.
Needless to say, I was thrilled when they started landing on runways and collections earlier this year. When I saw that Valentino was doing a butterfly collection, I knew the pieces would be absolutely exquisite. Of course, I absolutely adore everything Valentino does. Add butterflies to the mix, and my heart was all aflutter!
When wearing this dress, I truly feel like I am wearing a piece of art. In fact, I first chose to wear this dress in Italy to a private tour of the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. Art amongst the art. Needless to say, it was a very special moment. The fabric, the colors, the texture, and the pattern — everything about this dress is impeccable.
