Pregnancy Update

Well, the countdown is on… In fact, we are less than six weeks from meeting our baby girl. It’s so hard to believe. I’m 33+ weeks pregnant. And thankfully baby girl is doing just fine! Indeed, it feels as if she is getting bigger every single day at this point – as am I!

Preparations are coming along, but slowly. Admittedly, and in the words of my doctor, this has been a very rough pregnancy. I’ve had several fairly serious complications that have limited my energy and productivity. It’s been tough not being able to do as much and accomplish as much as I’m used to doing. I’ve just had to slow down and listen to my body and take care of myself and my baby.

So, I’m especially grateful for supportive friends. This past weekend, a dear friend took me by the hand for a big shopping excursion to get some of the practical, functional must-haves for a new baby. And I was so thankful for that.

Truly, all the little acts of kindness and love are so very appreciated.

Details of My Baby Shower

Speaking of… In order to help us prepare, my sister Kelli and a handful of my sweet friends hosted a baby shower a few weeks ago. To say I was blown away by their efforts would be an understatement. Indeed, there were so many special, personalized, creative, colorful touches. Most importantly, I felt so loved to be surrounded by so many friends and family. Truly, it was the perfect celebration.

I hope you don’t mind a plethora of photos today! It sure was fun to relive the day as I put this post together. I am just overwhelmed in the best possible way. I hope you enjoy perusing these.

What I Wore

Before I close, I must thank my sweet friend Babi of Sachin & Babi for sending me this beautiful dress for my baby shower. It was perfect for the occasion, and indeed it will be a cherished keepsake. Also, you might remember that I also wore this dress to the Kentucky Oaks – “pink day” at the Kentucky Derby. Additional outfit details can be found below.

Side Note : Inadvertent / Maybe / Kind of / Sort of Name Reveal?

I’m sure you’ll notice some personalized details from the shower – which I adore!

Well, I have to point out that while I thought we were completely sold on our baby girl’s name, there has been some last minute wavering. So, we will see. Stay tuned. 😉

In Closing

Finally, thanks for stopping by. And thanks for allowing me to share this special time with you. We hope to see you around here all week, as we have some fun things in store!

Thanks for all the kind words, Jennifer! It was surely a special celebration.

You know, on one hand, it’s been rough physically for me – and I’m ready for this portion of the adventure to be over. But yes – on the other hand, in some ways it has gone by quickly! And there is something remarkably special about carrying her inside, all protected and safe and sound and growing.

I know you understand, given you’re going through this now too. Enjoy the miracle of it all!

Every mom-to-be deserves to be showered with love and friendship! It’s wonderful to see you let yourself be the center of attention, for a change:) Once your baby arrives, she will be showered with love for years to come. It was your turn and it looks like a special day was enjoyed by all. The name London is just beautiful. I have my fingers crossed that once you see your baby you will know what her name is meant to be. My husband Mark refused to choose a name for both of our children until the day they were born. (I did have a short list available of name nominations for him to consider beforehand, of course:)
