Words of Wisdom

by Julie Weinstein

Oh, summer travel. Isn’t it the best?

There’s something about getting out of town during this most carefree time of the year.

And it doesn’t necessarily mean flying halfway across the world. It can be as simple as a road trip! It’s just the point of getting away and getting out of your day to day routine.

Traveling is good for the mind, body, and soul. In fact, science has revealed travel is one of the best methods to maintain happiness.

When you’re in the grind day in and day out it can be easy to get caught up in it and start simply going through the motions and not really feeling and experiencing your life. It becomes routine. It becomes habitual. Not that any of this is a bad thing, but traveling can help to rejuvenate you in every way.

We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.

When you travel you get to experience all that life has to offer in a different place and sometimes a different culture. Whether you go away to learn, relax, explore, adventure, or a mix of all, it allows you to come into contact with so many new and different things, separate from your everyday life. And sometimes it’ll push you out of your comfort zone, which is so important in terms of growth and evolution.

If you don’t have plans to travel this summer, take a look at your calendar and see if you can get out of town, even if just for a day and a drive away. It’ll change your mindset in more ways than one!

Safe travels!
