Friday Favorite Finds: Burnt Orange

Written by Hannah Lyons

First off, hello and happy Saturday to everyone! That’s right – we are doing Friday Favorite Finds on Saturday. That’s because Carrie wanted to make sure to highlight an awesome weekend sale yesterday.

Hopefully, everyone enjoyed their first week of October. I know I’m taking advantage of the new month to start new regimes both in business and beauty. It is never too late for a fresh start!

Okay – so secondly, we continue with our Fall 2016 Color Story. We have too much fun gathering our favorite colorful items. In case you’ve missed our recent choices of hues, we’ve listed them below.

Fall 2016 Color Story – Colors :

And of course, in accordance to the start of October, we’ve chosen a favorite color of ours – burnt orange. This color defines autumn ambiance and can be found everywhere during the fall months. Whether it be pumpkins, leaves, knit sweaters, or even University of Texas gear (Carrie’s alma mater), the color is all around!

(A side note from Carrie: A special “hook em!” cheer for my burnt orange Texas Longhorns as they take on OU today in the legendary Texas / OU college football battle.)

18 Burnt Orange Items We’re Obsessing Over

Whether you’re a Longhorn or just love fall, you should definitely add some burnt orange into your life. Tibi has some great burnt orange pieces this season. They’re calling the color ‘burnt paprika’. Also, we’ve noticed a couple products for the guys, like these gorgeous cuff links and these striped socks. My personal favorite this week? It has to be these shoes. Carrie told me she’s loving these burnt orange suede pumps, which they happen to be 40% off this weekend!

As far as wearing the color… burnt orange pairs well with olive, ivory, black, and denim. For example, try pairing this Tibi top with these Rachel Comey denim pants! I’m definitely ordering these.

Bonus tip: All of these products are perfect for University of Texas fans, especially during football season! Even your eyeshadow can parade some school spirit. It isn’t too late to stock up for this weekend’s game – UT vs. Oklahoma!

I got a dress in a shade and material that look exactly like the Tibi top (#4) – and a matching suede jacket. I’ve never liked this type of colour on me, but I absolutely love it now! And yes, it’s perfect for fall. Whenever I step out wearing this combo people comment I look like a quintessence of autumn, hehe.

    1. Carrie says:

Well what a wonderful thing to be told! Hee.
