How do I love thee graphic tee? Oh, let me count the ways!
But really! Graphic tees are my absolute favorite thing to wear. Ask pretty much anyone who knows me and they’ll tell you – I wear graphic tees more than anything else in my wardrobe. To be honest, I think it’s gotten a bit out of control. I mean, how many graphic tees does one person need? A lot, if you ask me, ha! But sometimes I do think I wear them too much, but what’s a graphic tee lover to do?
In all seriousness, with the monthly theme of empowerment in mind, we are committed to empowering you to get more mileage from your wardrobe! We all get sucked into the commercialism of buy, buy, buy all the time. And we certainly love the new new just as much as anyone else. But there comes a time when it’s all too much in so many ways. So, we are always looking for ways to get more wear out of what we already have.
And who doesn’t have a graphic tee or ten in her closet? Graphic tees are such a great staple to have in one’s wardrobe. And let me tell you why.
Why you should have graphic tees in your wardrobe
1. They are comfortable! First things first, they are plain and simple comfortable. Graphic tees are just that…tees (with pizzaz!). And very few things are more comfortable than a tee obviously!
2. They are versatile. You might initially think graphic tees aren’t the most versatile item, but in fact, they are! You can simply wear them with jeans and kicks or you can dress it up with heels or even a dressy skirt (these ideas and many more below).
3. They are downright cool. In my mind, graphic tees add an instant cool factor to an otherwise more basic outfit, especially rocker tees (my personal favorites). Of course, we’re all about plain tees, too, but a graphic tee is much more fun! As we were prepping this article, Carrie said that graphic tees make her feel cool and even edgy!
4. They help in a pinch. Indeed, they do! When I’m rushing and don’t have the time to think about an outfit or time to try on various outfit options, I reach for one of my graphic tees. Because like I said above, they are versatile, and you can never go wrong with a graphic tee.
5. They come in all colors and at all price points. Type in “graphic tee” to any retailer and you’ll find an endless amount of options. You’ll find them in every color under the sun, and you can find them at every price point.
It seems that the last couple years graphic tees have been at the forefront of both high fashion brands and mass retailers alike. In terms of high end designers and brands, the most popular ones are the Gucci styles. And while I’m not in the market for a $500 tee, I can’t help but love it! You’ve also likely seen the old school Adidas graphic tees, which are very affordable and add a sporty element to a look. And, of course, as I said, there are the rocker tees (among many others), which have been around for a while and will continue to be.
