A Colorful Pool Party to Kick Off Summer
Written by Julie Weinstein
Monday Tuesday, guys! How great does it feel that it’s already Tuesday? Short weeks are certainly nice, especially once the warm months hit. Unfortunately, the weather was sub par, at best, this weekend in Houston, but it was still a great couple days off. And the time I did spend in the pool was most definitely cherished. There are few things that make me happier than drinking rosé in a pool. Anyone else with me?
As you might have seen on our Insta-stories last week, we had the most fun pool party photo shoot to kick off the season we all adore. We had a blast, and honestly could have stayed there all day, sipping on the most delicious margarita we’ve ever tried (don’t worry, we’ll give you the recipe later in the week!), and soaking in the heat and sun, amongst an array of the most fabulous floats…ever.
What Carrie Wore
Before we talk floats, we have to talk fashion, of course. First, I have to say, have you ever seen a more beautiful pregnant person?! I mean, to rock a bathing suit (and look incredible doing so, I might add) at 8 months pregnant, that’s our Carrie! Amazing, right? I adore her entire look. From her Pitusa cover up to the Solid & Striped one piece, the Nannacay hat, earrings and tote, it’s colorful summertime perfection.
Solid & Striped
I know, I know, bathing suits aren’t always the most fun thing to shop for. Though, when the bathing suits are extra cute and flattering, too, it’s not so bad! Enter : Solid & Striped. Carrie is wearing their willow one-piece in these photos. They have so many great styles, and a capsule collection over on Shopbop that we keep eyeing. See below for some of our favorite Solid & Striped bathing suits.
You’ve probably noticed that pom poms are something we keep gravitating towards. Whether on dresses, tops, accessories, or shoes, is it safe to say we’ve never met a pom we didn’t like? Maybe cheesy, but also true! As evidenced here, here, here, and here (among other places), we’re all about the poms. So, when Carrie stumbled upon this Pitusa cover up, it didn’t take her more than a second to realize she must have it. It seems like Pitusa is all about the poms, as well, because they have other pieces with poms that we can’t help but adore. See below for more styles on our shopping list.
Continuing on with the pom pom theme, the bags! Pom pom adorned totes are everything. They are the most fun and perfect for summer. We especially love the Nannacay totes (a more in depth Nannacay post is coming soon, by the way!), such as the pink pom one you see in these photos (which will be available for purchase soon) and the baby Roge one (which you can pre order now). See below for more Nannacay totes we love.
Now, onto the floats! As you saw in our pool float round up a couple weeks back, there is certainly no shortage when it comes to fun ones this season. And, lucky for us, we were able to get our hands on our favorites for the photo shoot. All floats came from our dear friend Beth’s shop, Manor, with the exception of the fabulous rainbow float, which came from the adorable Houston-based store Emerson Sloan, and the amazing heart one, which came from the well-known website ban.do (and Carrie already owned the adorable unicorn ones).
Manor (all 10% off with code WEARWHEREWELL) : Cactus / Smarties / Ice Pop / Ice Cream / Round Palm Banana / Banana / Goldie Golden Swan / Pineapple Drink Holder / Giant Pineapple / Inflatable ‘Cactoss’ Ring Toss Game / Donut Hole Beach Ball / See all here
See even more floats we’re loving in our 2017 pool float round up!
So, now, are you ready to dive into the nearest pool you can find? Because I sure am. How fun are these photos? And the party doesn’t stop here. Later this week, we’ll be bringing you tips on healthy pool party entertaining, delicious recipes, and lots more. Until then, have a great day and enjoy the short week!
