My 13 Favorite Blogs I Read Every Day

You'll want to bookmark these!

My Favorite Blogs

This probably goes without saying, but I will state the obvious: As a blogger, I love reading blogs! In fact, I read a ton of other blogs. Some of my most delightful mornings are those in which I can sip my coffee and leisurely browse through my whole list of blogs on feedly. I take a lot of delight in those mornings when I can get inspiration from a plethora of blogs in a vast array of niches – business, fashion, DIY, design, entertaining, productivity, and more.

But let’s be real… most mornings don’t allow for all that. Most mornings, I’m balancing a one-year old, replying to emails, planning photo shoots, leading team meetings, and other duties. On those mornings, when I have to pare down my blog reading to the bare necessities, I always reach for the same ones. I quickly scroll down my feedly list and click on the same dozen or so blogs.

I know everyone has his or her own personal preferences when it comes to blog reading. But I thought it’d be fun to share the short list of those blogs to which I gravitate each day. This list is by no means an exhaustive list of blogs I read. But for whatever reason, each of these blogs makes my very short list of those which I check out daily.

I hope you enjoy my list, plus I’d love to hear of your daily reads as well!

The 13 Blogs I Read Every Day

1. A Beautiful Mess

What it is:

Many consider A Beautiful Mess to be one of the original blogs. They just celebrated their eleventh anniversary. What started out as a couple of sisters document their lives has turned into a full-on lifestyle media empire. In addition to the DIY-centric blog, sisters Elsie and Emma also have co-founded multiple apps – most notably mobile photo editing app A Color Story.

Why I love it:

Well, Elsie and I have been friends for a dozen or so years – from way back in the days when we both scrapbooked professionally. It’s been such a joy to watch her business grow and expand and succeed. And as I started to consider launching a blog, one of the first active steps I took was to take their online blog life course. That’s how much I look up to them in the blogging arena.

2. Atlantic-Pacific

What it is:

Atlantic-Pacific chronicles the delightful style of Blair Eadie, who is essentially my style icon. Blair used to live in San Francisco, but has resided in NYC for years now – thus the east coast / west coast reference in her blog name. After a career in the fashion industry, Blair now blogs full-time. Her unique fashion sense is continually on-point, inspiring, and completely fabulous.

Why I love it:

Well, first, Blair always nails it fashion-wise. Day after day, season after season, year after year, her style is impeccable. She never misses. Exhibit A – this recent look. Need I say more? Second of all, she is as nice and kind as she is fashionable.

3. Brit + Co

What it is:

Founded by Brit Morin, Brit + Co aims to ignite the creative spark within women. They achieve that through publishing a plethora of articles on their site – over 20 daily! – plus via online courses and more.

Why I love it:

Each time I check out the site, I either learn something new, am educated about a current issue, or am informed about a topic. These articles are short, concise, easily digestible pieces of information. And the whole vibe of the site is just happy and helpful. Delightful in fact!

4. Camille Styles

What it is:

Though I usually loathe the term “lifestyle” when applied to a blog, it truly applies here. Camille Styles is an Austin-based lifestyle blog focused on inspiring, creating, and exploring. Camille’s team writes about a variety of topics from entertaining to goal setting. These two examples perfectly illustrate that breadth of content: How to Throw an Impromptu Dinner Party and 12 Books to Read if You’re Feeling Stuck and Unmotivated.

Why I love it:

First, as someone who runs a blog day-to-day, I greatly admire how professionally the blog is run. The design of the site, the quality of content, the quantity of content, the breadth of content, the consistency of it all… Camille Styles has it all!

Secondly, I just love the sophisticated feel of the brand. I feel as if I’ve elevated myself and my lifestyle each time I read something there.

5. Create & Cultivate

What it is:

Create & Cultivate itself is a brand that aims to help women develop their dream careers. They do that through exciting conferences (like the recent Houston style summit I talked about here),  as well as their online presence.

Why I love it:

Simply put, the mission of Create & Cultivate aligns so well with my brand’s mission! Create & Cultivate is an online platform and offline conference for women looking to create & cultivate the career of their dreams. At the same time, as you know, our mission is to empower women to live, think, and dress with more color. A big and expanding part of our mission is to help women grow their business acumen (as evidenced here). I love everything that Jaclyn and team are doing.

The C&C blog dishes out great business advice, insightful interviews, and more.

Side note: be sure to check out founder Jaclyn Johnson’s brand new book titled Work Party.

6. Entrepreneur

What it is:

Well, technically, Entrepreneur is a magazine, I guess, and not a blog. But still – I have their online feed added to my blog roll so that I don’t miss any inspiring entrepreneurial-focused business advice.

Why I love it:

As a full-fledged traditional magazine with an online presence now, Entrepreneur clearly publishes lots of content. While I can’t read it all each day, I can quickly scan the headlines and pick out at least one title that applies to me and gain some daily business inspiration.

7. Luella & June

What it is:

Dallas-based Bradley Agather Means writes Luella & June, an elevated style blog.

Why I love it:

Maybe this one is new to you – and I hope it is, as I love spreading the love! I do not know Bradley personally at all, but I have followed her for years. She doesn’t publish new content every day, but I check each day. If there is something new, I click on it right away! As a former magazine editor, she has a discerning eye for everything! Design, fashion, style, travel, decor – I love everything she touches. I really can’t describe my fascination further, other than to say I’m obsessed.

8. Oh Happy Day

What it is:

Oh Happy Day is another blog which I would consider to be one of the OG blogs. In their words, they aim to be the best party resource on the internet!

Why I love it:

While their stated mission is obviously a lofty goal, I do believe they achieve it in my eyes! With every fun party idea they post, I think, “Why didn’t I think of that?!” Colorful, fun, creative, party ideas abound here! Plus, they’ve even developed their own party supply store.

They haven’t been blogging as frequently lately – probably because they’ve been busy preparing to launch the NYC version of their amazing Color Factory experience.

9. Studio DIY

What it is:

Their site says it so well, so I’ll just quote them here: “Studio DIY is a creative lifestyle company in charge of making life a PARTY! We share fun, kooky and bold DIY projects, recipes, tips, tricks, ideas… the works! Our projects are larger than life and we aren’t afraid of color. Oh, and more is always more here.”

Why I love it:

Well, clearly, I share Kelly’s love of color. Plus, I just find myself simply smiling each time I visit their site! How cool is that? A site that makes you smile! Furthermore, Kelly and her husband Jeff adopted a baby Arlo who is about the same age as Elle, so Kelly and I bonded over that as well.

10. Style Charade

What it is:

Jennifer Lake’s Style Charade is a finely curated destination for colorful fashion and travel eye candy.

Why I love it:

Well, first of all, Jennifer is a lovely human being! She is kind and warm and interesting and just plain nice. Second of all, Jenn loves color as much as I do! Third, she has impeccable taste!

11. Sugar & Cloth

What it is:

Sugar & Cloth is an absolutely delightful Houston-based DIY-focused blog.

Why I love it:

Wife and husband team Ashley and Jared work together tirelessly to bring creative recipes, projects, events, and more to the blog. Besides that, they are just great people. So down-to-earth, so hard-working, so kind. I admire them so. In full disclosure, Ashley is a dear friend of mine. 🙂

12. The Stripe

What it is:

Again, I’ll defer to founder Grace Atwood, as she says it so well: “The Stripe is a little bit of everything: personal style, DIY projects, the best beauty products and books, travel guides, wellness, and so much more. We aim to leave you feeling like you just had coffee with your best girlfriend.”

Why I love it:

I think Grace’s last sentence above sums it up! She does leave you feeling like you’re one of her closest girlfriends. She is so genuine. There is no ounce of pretentiousness to her. And she has been doing this blogging thing a long time! Girl knows who she is and what she’s about.

13. The Style Scribe

What it is:

The Style Scribe is an upscale fashion and travel blog written by Texas-based Merritt Beck.

Why I love it:

Merritt celebrates all of life’s little luxuries. I have followed her for years. Though our personal styles differ, I still just adore all of the content she produces. From outfits to travel guides and more, she executes everything so beautifully and professionally.
