Friday Favorite Finds : Leather
Written by Hannah Lyons
Happy Friday Wear + Where + Well readers!
To begin with, we are absolutely delighted to have you back for another edition of Friday Favorite Finds. I’m currently writing from the comfort of my bed (yay!). With November here… so are the cold fronts. Nevertheless, it gives me all the excuse to bring out my favorite pajamas and enjoy some hot tea!
Furthermore – in the meantime, we continue our Fall 2016 Color Story by confabulating all about leather. It’s a seasonal favorite and a must-have for everyone’s fall and winter closet. Therefore, let us waste no time and start by talking what colors we’ve covered thus far!
Fall 2016 Color Story
During the fall months, we’ve a cornucopia of the top-trending hues. From pink to leopard, to mustard to teal – we have without a doubt, covered our fall favorites. Particularly, mustard and pink have been my most adored. In essence, these colors are absolutely gorgeous and are extremely fun for the fall season. In the case that you’ve missed out on any of them, we’ve listed them all below! From August to November, we’ve covered:
In the meantime, we are putting a twist on our Fall 2016 Color Story, by introducing a favorite texture of ours – leather! So, will you allow us to indulge ourselves with a texture this week? 🙂
Firstly, as Carrie mentioned earlier this week, the 1970s are big again this fall season. This means all things velvet, suede, and of course leather! With a-line skirts, fringe, and lace-up everything, it’s obvious that bohemian vibes are definitely back in style. Chloé in particular has taken this era to heart. For Chloé’s fall collection, designer Clare Waight Keller took her latest inspiration from journalist Anne-Frane Dautheville’s 70s motorcycle excursion. Take a look at the collection – there is definitely lots of leather!
Secondly, the great thing about this particular material is that you’re not limited to certain colors. Nowadays, leather comes in endless colors from pink to orange to black. Especially coming from the Wear + Where + Well team, we are ecstatic to not be limited on wearing only neutral leathers.
Last but not least, leather is extremely timeless. Leather never looks out of style as long as the item is not overdone and too loud. I have a leather jacket that was previously my mom’s when she was younger. My tip: don’t go cheap with leather. Because it’s extremely classic and keeps forever, don’t be afraid to spend a bit more than you’re used to.
17 Leather Items You Need in Your Closet
Without a doubt, you can’t go wrong with leather. In case you’re not sure where to start, we’ve picked out our 17 favorite leather items. I’m personally obsessed with #5, the Eugenia Kim Leather Cap. You just can’t go wrong with a fall hat, especially with one as cute as this.
