Viva Aviva One Shoulder Polka Dot Top
We all know the off-the-shoulder trend has been going strong for a couple years now. In fact, the look is reaching beyond a trend to more of a classic style at this point. But do you ever wonder what’s next trend-wise? Well, I think we are going to start to see a lot of one-shoulder looks. As you might recall, I first wore the look here via a beautiful Sachin & Babi dress.
Soon enough, we will explore the one shoulder trend in depth here. But for now, I wanted to share with you the best one shoulder top I’ve found yet! This fabulous Viva Aviva one-shoulder polka dot top is available on sale exclusively here. Yes, that’s right – I said on sale!
The whimsical polka dot print combined with the one-shoulder style and ruffles creates a playful yet romantic look. And the styling possibilities are endless. Here, I’ll share with you two simple yet distinct ways in which I styled this top.
Look 1
If you’ve been wondering what to wear for a summer date night, look no further! For this first look, I paired the one-shoulder top with some red silk shorts and some classic black pumps.
Now, a note about the top… I usually shy away from cropped tops. This top, though, isn’t really cropped. But yet it shows just a bit of skin on one side, making it a fun option for a date night.
I finished off the look with some Sachin & Babi statement earrings and an Edie Parker rainbow hearts acrylic clutch.

Look 2
This Viva Aviva top takes on a completely different look for look 2. The top turns from sultry in look 1 to feminine in look 2. If you’re considering what to wear to a luncheon, this look would be perfect. It is very ladylike and classy.
Here, I paired the top with a Topshop black and white striped midi skirt. The high-waisted nature of the skirt hides the bit of midriff that showed in the first look.
While my exact skirt was purchased last summer and is out of stock, Topshop has introduced a very similar skirt this season, which you can find here. At less than $100, this midi skirt is a bargain. I’ve been thrilled with the quality of the skirt.
Finally, I finished the look off with the same classic black pumps and a simple red envelope clutch.
Conclusion
There you have it – two takes on my favorite one-shoulder top! Which look is your favorite? Do you like this top? Don’t forget it’s on sale!
Thanks as always for stopping by. Have a great Monday! See you back here tomorrow.

Once again – you’re gorgeous! Also, I usually find the combination of red, black and white a bit too aggressive, but it looks marvelous here – I guess fun prints are the ones to thank. x

Thank you so much, Anastasia! And I completely agree – red, white, and black can go wrong easily. Glad you thought it worked here. 😉

Thanks so much, Sydney! You know, we had so much rain in Houston for a few weeks that we had to resort to indoor shooting. In the end, I was grateful for this new natural light studio.

So nice of you to say, Luci! Big thanks.
HI Carrie,
Those red Valentino shorts caught my eye right away.
Love how Mari is shooting in a studio. Really adds a new dimension to your blog.
Have a good week,
Sheri
Hey – thanks, Sheri!
Those shorts fall in the category of longterm investment pieces, as we have discussed. I bought them about five years ago (on sale). I wear them every summer, and they are still in perfect condition!
Thanks for your comments on the studio shoot. I know Mari will appreciate that! We were so bogged down with storms for two weeks straight that we had to resort to indoors. This new studio provided a nice option.
Hope your week is off to a great start!
