Wednesday Words of Wisdom
As the year is winding down and the holidays are aplenty, it’s not uncommon to be sentimental, feel a tad nostalgic, and maybe even more emotional than normal. And the holidays can also be synonymous with family time. If you’re fortunate enough to be able to be with your family this time of year, take a minute (or two or three) to really feel grateful. Because not everyone gets that time.
Family is Everything
Truly, family is everything. And family doesn’t have to mean blood relatives. Family can mean all sorts of things. Whether step-relatives, half-relatives, or not relatives at all; family can also be friends who have become like family.
And family, in any form, is not something to take for granted.
My family lives all over the country, primarily in the north east. I’m lucky to live in the same city as my in laws, but it is certainly hard to not live in the same city as my immediate family. So, when we are all together, I try to cherish each and every single solitary moment.
Though, even if you are a lucky one who does live near your family, you should still hold those family moments dear.
Of course, not all family members become best friends. And that’s ok. The important thing is to understand that family loves each other unconditionally, in any circumstance.
