Social Mama

Houston-based SocialMama, a mobile app to connect mothers for relationships and resources, received a $150,000 investment from Carrie Colbert, a Houston-based investor. Social Mama was created by co-founder and CEO Amanda Ducach.

Across the United States, female-founded startups raised just 2.2 percent of all venture capital investments in 2018, according to TechCrunch. Colbert said that one of her missions as an investor is to support female-founded, female-focused ventures.
