The Secret to Wearing Red

Red. It’s the color of passion and energy and action. Red is full of intensity and vibrancy. Red signifies passion and power. The hue is meant to stand out, not blend in. Red is for the bold, not for the meek. It’s made for leaders, not followers. Just this past week, the beautiful Queen Latizia of Spain donned a red dress while speaking at a Let Girls Learn conference.

To quote the wise Dr. Seuss:

“Why fit in when you were born to stand out?”

When it comes to wearing color, I often hear from you all that you’re a little intimidated to do so. That’s why I’ve written these articles in the past on how to wear certain colors:

As I was researching and thinking about red, today’s color in focus, I attempted to write a similarly numbered list of tips for wearing red, but, really, at the end of the day, there is only one secret you need to know to wear red.

The secret to wearing red is to wear it with confidence!

That’s right – it’s that simple. You can’t play the role of a shrinking violet when wearing red. You must wear it with confidence. Walk tall, put a smile on your face, and stride boldly into the room. That’s the only way to do it. When you’re wearing red, heads will turn!
